The one method for handling stress in your life is this: Know who you are. This is criticallly important in stress management because if you don't know who you are, someone else may try to tell you who they think you are. If you don't know who you are, you will subconsciously let other people manipulate you and pressure you into believing you are somebody you aren't.
We all make mistakes, and sometimes they are pretty bad. But a failure can become a stepping-stone to success. Always remember this.
depression is one of the greatest problems in the world today. It has been called the common cold of emotional illnesses. Everyone gets depressed at times, but some people are depressed nearly all the time. And it's not limited to poor people or people with physical ailments.
If you think in a negative way, you are going to feel depressed. Your emotions are caused by how you interpret life. If you look at life from a negative viewpoint, you're going to get down.
If you want to get rid of negative emotions, you have to change the way you think. To overcome depression you must get your incorrect attitudes about life corrected. If you look at things from the right point of view, that goes a long way toward not being depressed.

How To Handle Fear Of Unknown
Taking the time to research can eliminate many things you don't know about a project, an event, a health concern or a relationship. When you are prepared, doubt retreats and confidence grows. In short, expect the best, prepare for the worst.
During a stressful job with many unknowns, you should prepare ahead of time, but once the job begins, try to stay in the present and focus on the process of what you are doing.
Always remember, if everything was known, we wouldn't continue probing. If explorers and scientists had not surmounted their fear of the unknown, we'd still be all cooped up on one or two continents and terrified of fire.
Expect the unexpected is a healthy mindset as long as you don't spend all day expecting to be successful 100 percent of the time and in control of every detail.
If you fear the future too much, you may not be living enough in the present.
Always accept that there will be things in the future that you may feel deeply concerned and even helpless about. But remember that if there are no unknowns in your life, you likely aren't taking any chances.

Some Soul-Searching Questions
Think and name the person you found it most difficult to forgive for something, who was it, and what for?
Think and name one thing for which you could never forgive someone, even a loved one, what would it be?
If you were to cite an example that defined "TRUST" for you, what would it be?
If you were to name the two sides of your personalities that are most contradictory, what would you say?
If you could have one thing said about you by everyone after your death, what would you want them to say?
Think and select one thing you wish you hadn't witnessed or experienced in your life, what would you say it was?
Think and name the most difficult thing for you to talk about, what would it be?
If you were to name the person you've had a continuous psychological power struggle with, who would it be?
Think and name a time when your body and mind were at odds with each other.
If you had to name your biggest contribution to helping mankind, what would you say?
If you were to name the music that has touched your soul the most deeply, what would it be?
If God were to appear briefly before you in any form you choose, what would it be?
If you had to define the circumstances under which it is ethically right to lie, what would they be?
If you had to describe the circumstances under which it would be ethically to break the law, what would you say?

Powerful Thoughts To Consider
Safe popular freedom consists of four things: The diffusion of liberty, of intelligence, of property, and of conscientiousness, and cannot be compounded of any three out of the four.
Joseph Cook
The objectives of education and industry are identical. Both are interested in good citizenship, in serving society, in a better life---and both firmly believe in freedom.
Herman L. Donovan
It is better for a man to go wrong in freedom than to go right in chains.
Thomas H. Huxley
No nation deserves freedom or can long retain it which does not win for it for itself. Revolutions must be made by the people and for the people.
Giuseppi Mazzini
Those who expect to reap the blessing of freem must undertake to support it.

You Can Program Yourself For Success
Is the glass half full, half empty? It's a classic example that drives home a very powerful point--you see what you want to see. We all have the same five senses. Yet the sensory input that we receive must be interpreted before we can understand and act on it. Though we often cannot control the reality of the world, we have complete control over our perception and interpretation of reality. And we have complete control over the actions we take in response. And it is that perception, and those actions, that make all the difference in life.
Everyone's alarm clock sounds basically the same. Only to the successful person, however, is it the sound of opportunity. What does your alarm clock sound like?
Everyone's copy of the daily newspaper contains the same articles. However, only the coply that lands in the successful person's driveway has stories of unlimited possibilities and oppotunities.
You can literally program yourself for success by changing the way you perceive the world around you. You will find what you look for. The so-called "REALITY" of the outside world is only a mirror. A mirror which confirms and gives evidence to the vision that you have on the inside.
Always remember, the world is what you expect it to be, and nothing else. Expect the best and that is the kind of world you will create.

Have A Purpose In Life
Your life has purpose and meaning. You are not here to fill space or to be a background character in someone else's movie. Consider this: nothing would be the same if you did not exist. Every place you have ever been and everyone you have ever spoken to would be different without you.
We are all connected, and we are all affected by the decisions and even the existence of those around us.
Studies of older people find that one of the best predictors of happiness is whether a person considers his or her life to have a purpose. Without a clearly defined purpose, seven in ten individuals feel unsettled about their lives; with a purpose, almost seven in ten feel satisfied.

Focus Your Life
Most people have no real focus for their future. As a result, they often get caught up in a day-to-day troubles without achieving any of their goals. Having a future focus not only makes life more exciting, it helps make any short-term problems more bearable.
To experience a fundamentally happier life, decide where you would like to be in five years and work very seriously toward it everyday. See it clearly, believe in it. Take proper action to make it a reality. Take out a pen and some writing pad. Imagine your ideal life in five years. Where would you live? How would you work? What would you have achieved?
It's impossible to feel discouraged and depressed if you have a strong future focus that you work with hope and consistency every day.
