Adapt yourself to the life you have been given; and truly love the people with whom destiny has surrounded you.
An angry look is absolutely unnatural. If it's constantly put on, the result is that all beauty dies, and eventually becomes completely extinguished and can never be lit up again.
If someone is in error, instruct them kindly and show them where they have gone wrong. If this doesn't correct them, blame yourself, or better, blame no one.
It is a peculiaryly human characteristic to love even those who do us wrong. This love is born when you recognize others as your brothers, who do wrongly blindly, through ignorance.
When you want to cheer yourself up, think of the good qualities of those you live with. For instance, the energy of one, the modesty of another, the generosity of a third, and so on.
For nothing gives us as much pleasure as seeing the examples of the virtues presented in abundance by those who live among us. Therefore keep them always near at hand.
