Becoming A Better Listener

I am an especially good listener at home and with the people I love and care most. I am always listen to understand. And my understanding and the caring that it shows add greatly to the warmth and happiness of my friends and family.

I never spend time planning my next words when I should be listening to what is being said now.

When someone is speaking to me, I let him know that I am giving him my full attention. My face shows my interest and always shows the attention I am giving him and the words he is saying. I am a careful listener. I do not listen just to hear. I always listen to understand.

I listen not only to the thoughts of others, but to the voice that speaks from within myself as well. I listen to the inner voice carefully. This is the voice of my best friend and counselor, as I heed the advice which it gives me.

Every day I become more and more skilled in the language of positive listening. I enjoy practicing and improving my listening skills every chance I get. And I practice them with anyone I talk to, or listen to, anywhere I am.
