It is a good idea to avoid giving advice to others, unless asked. Concentrate only on your own progress in life. Do not waste time interfering in what others are doing. Also, avoid criticizing and finding faults with the deeds of others; only a person who is above criticism is fit to make a remark or comment on others.
Some people are in the habit of giving unsolicited, unwanted, and unnecessary advice to everyone. Give advice only when asked for it. If you are not qualified to comment, admit it instead of giving incorrect or vague advice.
It is always better to teach through example than through preaching. This is more powerful and effective. Also, you cannot persuade anyone against his will.
If you are running your own business or having a managerial position and have to get work done by your subordinate, it is inevitable that you will need to make criticism about their work. But again, this should be done in the spirit of suggestion, without involving ego disputes.
