It's fine to have long-term goals, but if all your goals are in the distant future, you may never get around to enjoy them. Why put your life on hold? Instead, begin to view each day as special....one that you won't have next week, or next year. Life is short and you never know when it will end. That doesn't mean you should live wild, but it does mean that you must recognize that today counts.
Make a commitment to put your energies into today. By living your life one day at a time, you reaffirm your choices and live life to the fullest. No matter what comes, you will make each day a constructive one in your life.
Every morning when you get up, look at life and see what positive thoughts and actions you can take to confirm your legacy.
Can I do something for my legacy?
Can I be patient?
Can I do something for others?
Can I be compassionate?
Can I take care of my own mind and body?
Can I live with what's in my heart?
Definitely you can all these things.
Once you set these ideas in motion, they will become a pattern of behavior that works for you. You will start to feel more relaxed, confident, honest, and flexible. You will have a much greater range of intellectual and emotional happiness.
Make a list of the things that matter in your life. Are you doing these things now and living a positive life, or are you always planning for some time may never come in the far distant future?
